Eye to the iPhone. It is a de facto console. I refer to the tests

In March I wrote an article saying that the iPhone and iPod were succeeding as arcade games and Nintendo (and other) have to worry about. I received more than a stick in the comments, both meneame as in this blog for it.

I suppose that this reaction is that it is not easy to convince the "hardcore" and fanboys, who do not see beyond their home console, a device that Apple was not a console at first but it is facto to all effects, you're eating ground to Nintendo and Sony.

I guess all you can convince these "hardcore" are videos like the one I put then Resident Evil 4 running on an iPhone:

My analysis of Resident Evil 5: Good but not as much as seemed

After finish my single player mode and give good tute Mercenaries mode is unlocked after the game I'm willing to give my opinion on Resident Evil 5. In short, it seems a great game in graphics, but a little continuity in terms of gameplay despite the new partner, Sheva, and some other news.

The change of scenery makes sense from the standpoint of history, but to place it in Africa and in broad daylight, the game loses that grim and gloomy air that characterized him. It has become a much more focused on action, ruling almost completely puzzles and supporting the classic gameplay, so that, for example, can not move while aiming (If not, would not be a Resident Evil, said the producer game during his visit to Madrid). In any case, despite new phases of persecution, the new partner and some small improvements, there is a qualitative leap in gameplay, at least in the single player mode.

On the contrary, the cinematics, graphics and scenarios of the game are outstanding. This, together with sound, often used to indicate danger, are the strong points of the game, which is clearly graphically next generation.

The script was aroused curiosity, but I've always had the feeling of being ahead of the protagonists in terms of understanding the history and where were the shots. There are some things you sense and you have pretty clear from reading documents that you find, but the players seem to be short-witted and not find the cake until the last minute. In this sense the script fails a bit, but do not deny moments of tension and intrigue and a decent end.

Sheva is your constant companion on this adventure. If she dies, the story ends. It is essential to complete the adventure, so you have to look after her. She in turn strikes us as covers or select and come to our aid when we are about to die. The best strategy is to equip ourselves with a good gun and give Sheva the best gun (to load ammunition normal, which is the most abundant), improve them to the fullest, and enjoy the ride. Another good idea is to give Sheva all the sprays and healing plants because she used to heal both when necessary, so that we can forget the subject. The presence of Sheva is one of the great innovations of the adventure, but I think that this development will be much more interesting in cooperative and multiplayer modes in single player mode.

Where the game shines again is in the arms. We will have many new weapons also can be improved based on book. Surely not you miss any weapons in the meantime knife, pistol, machine gun, rifle or grenade launchers.

As a good game of new generation artificial intelligence Sheva and zombies should be outstanding. Sheva's not bad, although we missed you more variety in the orders that we could give, especially to save arms, but this game I thought it was more likely to give than previous rounds. She looks ammunition or life and we delivery if appropriate and plays a major role especially in bosses, accurately pointing to the weaknesses of the final boss.

As for the zombies (They are not zombies, they are infected) I have bittersweet feelings. They're faster and smarter to the point that they lose that air of class b zombie that I like ... Anyway, that makes sense in the script, but have flaws and the fact running towards you like a soul to the devil 2 steps and stand to dry a little zombie. This would be the big mistake of the game in this regard in my opinion.

In conclusion, commenting that the Resident Evil 4 for Wii loved is a great conversion full of dark, creepy puzzles and sound, something that lacks the fifth. Great in terms of graphics, single player in a classic both in gameplay and the improvements made not just to renew it. After finishing it, the game is still replayable with another character and unlock Mercenaries mode, which you have to bring down as many enemies as possible to pass a phase in time.

In the absence of additional game modes to try, give it a rating of 8, a little less than the notes I see on other gaming sites and certainly much less than the notes that got the Resident Evil 4. Still, the game will sweep in sales. The graphics and good marketing argument made is enough for many players who, while not going to see disappointed, perhaps we find anything radically new or exceeding the previous version.

Resident Evil 5 is available from the March 13, 2009 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Controversy with Versus mode for Resident Evil 5: With the game modes do not play!

These days much is said about the controversy surrounding Resident Evil 5, and I am not referring to the controversy over whether the game is racist or not (which is not), but the fact that they will charge around 5 euros for the Versus gameplay (a new competitive mode), which will arrive shortly as a download added to the game.

Of course, users have mounted angry because they feel that the game modes to play and not least a few weeks after the release of a video game for which they have paid almost 70 euros. Regardless of the arguments that brings Capcom to make their point, I think the bottom line is what controversy is likely to be discharged and charged after the start of the game and what not.

What I believe is that the gaming community does not want to pay more for items that should be included in the game, such as weapons or game modes. These elements must be in the original game, which should give us a complete and finished to justify the purchase and the high value of the game. Other decorative elements and do not affect the game, like new clothes or ornaments for the characters, they would be eligible for additional downloads. Would even pay for additional maps, as demonstrated GTA The Lost and Damned, if a whole new chapter, which provides new content and a new story, does deserve to be downloaded (another issue is at what price).

It is unacceptable for us to checkout again to buy a game mode that will provide the same characters and weapons that can be found in Mercenaries mode, which is unlocked by finishing the story mode, not as we want to sell separately .

I have it clear: Hadouken! Tonight I begin to rock it to Street Fighter IV and GTA IV The Lost and Damned. In short I will give my opinion.

Update: The first impression was good. Overall very continuity. Basically, the developments are in the new characters and new combos and attacks, but the "gameplay" is the same in 2D if you download Xbox Live HD version of Street Fighter II came out not long ago. The big news for me is the online game, where I had more clubs than a mat, but it's my fault because I'm particularly bad at fighting games. I have not even half of that I can have patience with FIFA or Gran Turismo. My recommendation is that if you're a fan of SF II or fight, I'll definitely buy because you'll enjoy, especially in the online mode, which is great. If not the case, I would expect some to come down in price.

By the way, I could not download the Lost and Damned yesterday, stayed stuck at 16%. See if you best low today:-S
