BLUR: Pure vice

Before I ask, no, it has nothing to do with the famous British music group that triumphed with his smash hit " Song 2 ".

Blur , the game is synonymous with fun, competition, rivalry, struggle to reach the first goal at all costs a lot of laughs and laughs.

game blur

2 months ago that Activision has launched numerous codes to play the beta of Blur with 48 hours of free Xbox Live Gold. So we could enjoy the multiplayer mode (since the beta only has online multiplayer modes). The success was overwhelming, exhausting these in no time.

While still not out the game, the beta of Blur is one of the most played online, gathering thousands of gamers daily. There is nothing unusual, because once you've tried the beta and have played Blur a couple of races, the game becomes increasingly addictive and awaken the desire to improve our final result.

Why is it so addictive Blur The answer is simple, people from Bizarre Creations have done a tremendous job, have mixed Project Gotham Racing 4 with Mario Kart , and the result is Blur, a game arcade racing unlike in the which your goal is to reach the finish line first, but not just enough to accelerate and brake, but along the circuit are scattered numerous "power ups" to help you advance to the desired top.

These "power-ups" are: turbo, normal shots, shooting guided missiles, mines, car repair, shield, etc.. Furthermore, our car has a life bar that decreases over the rival attacks and strokes than we, but be careful that when we appear zero reaches far behind and lose many jobs.

Blur will go on sale on May 28 for Xbox 360 , PlayStation 3 and PC, there will be a "boom sales" since the month of May will be collapsed by Alan Wake, Red Dead Redemption, among others ...

If you have not had occasion to try the demo, you're already taking, and those who have tested and, what do you think?

First Contact - 2010 FIFA World Cup

As you know, and it is customary when they celebrate a European Championship finals or in the sports world, EA Sports always launches its official video about this event and this time they do the World Cup South Africa 2010 , to as only 2 months of its conclusion.

South Africa 2010 World

Since yesterday, April 8, is now available on PSN and Xbox Live demo of this game that will delight those fans of the game and those gamers who still enjoy FIFA 10 . The demo consists of a simple match between Spain and Italy, but is a great game graphically.

EA Sports has decided to market this game in physical form as a new game instead of out in addition to FIFA 10 because of improvements and new features including:

- The number of playable teams, while in FIFA 10 are the "core" in this edition we have 199 teams.

- Control "2 buttons" or "Dad pad", it is controlling play just two buttons, such as passing and shooting, as well as move our player with the joystick steering, the rest is done by the machine ... A novelty for the kids to play with his father or mother, EA always thinking of the family.

- Improved graphics and new animations, much like FIFA 10, but with a touch sharper and more colorful, more like sincerely, welcome addition to the coaches who will see them every 2 to 3 gesticulating in the band and from time to when we will suffer or rejoice with our game.

- Shooting and improved stops, compared to FIFA 10 shots on goal are more potent and effective, as the gatekeepers to this time seem more intelligent.

- Innovative launches penalties, here have been redefined and innovation comes into play when we play an important game, the pressure will increase as we move towards the end, as the responsibility of the players will not be as marked easy.

- New game modes and online, something new will be able to import our player from FIFA 10 to create this from scratch, to become captain of our team and fight for the World Cup scepter. Also an online mode with the tournament to make more realistic the fight between countries.

The game's official World Cup South Africa 2010, goes on sale later this month, on 30 April, at the hands of EA Games for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. With this game we satisfy our desire to secure for Spain to lift the cup, if not finally consiguiese. Good luck to the red!

Machinarium, a work of art

Posted by in adventure game , demo , PC

This weekend, after the acquisition of my new laptop, I was playing Machinarium.

For those who may know what is a flash game in which you drive a robot-style "point and click" where you have to fight your way through different levels with different puzzles and puzzle games to find out do you look for our beloved character.

Honestly what I love about this game are its graphics in 2D and with a high level of detail. Another strength is both his story (I will not spoiler) like puzzle games, really original and fun.

Like Braid , two games that I think are a work of art and if you have not yet had the chance to play them, I recommend them 100%, once you can not leave the probéis, as they are very addictive and it will be difficult stop playing them (I tell you from experience, I began to play on Saturday and ended on Sunday in a total of about 7 hours). By the way, I think these two games on the DS triumph.

Machinarium is the first long game developed by Amanita Design, available exclusively for PC. Through it we can get and download, but have announced a physical release , with an art book, poster and a CD with the soundtrack of the game.

Download the demo for PC | Machinarium (34.7 MB)
Download the demo for Mac | Machinarium (36 MB)

Dante's Inferno vs God of War III

Today I was playing the demo of Dante's Inferno . For those who may know what is an action game in the purest style God of War . Such is the resemblance that many media call it a technically be a copy modeled on moves, combos, creatures, settings ...

Dante's Inferno is based on the first part of The Divine Comedy of Dante Alighieri. The player controls Dante, a veteran of the Third Crusade trying to reach his beloved Beatrice and free his soul from Lucifer. His search leads Dante to deal with monstrous creatures through the nine circles of hell in order to save Beatrice, also facing their own sins and crimes of war.

Honestly my opinion about this game is pretty good, I amazed me the demo, the game is technically exquisite creatures with some scenarios and graphically very good, with very crude animations and gameplay very affordable and easy to control. Another of the strengths I see in this Dante's Inferno is that is cross platform and can enjoy both boxers as sonyers.

The game was developed by Visceral Games within the Electronic Arts studios (creators include the successful Dead Space ) and will go on sale February 12 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PSP. A month later, specifically on March 16, will be released the highly anticipated God of War 3 PlayStation 3 exclusive and truly believe that the latter is the one who will win the war between them.

You guys who believe, God of War 3 or Dante's Inferno? Do you think Dante's Inferno?

Do you snack? Gran Turismo 5 Prologue

Posted by on Driving , demo , PS3 , Sony , video games

I know that Sony did not mean any harm, but the case is sent on Gran Turismo 5 Prologue the day before going on holiday and ended up making the case to the one o'clock ... Since I have gone as I come play as shown in photo blog header and I would mention to my impressions.

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue

I found a set of cool graphics. This is obvious from the beginning, and in the menus, which is always present your car in a dream scenario. The level of detail is amazing both in cars and on the track. The intro is a sample of graphics power is seen in all its glory just need to put the repeats.
As you know, not everything in life is the graphics. The gameplay also seems to me that falls short. Lowering and removing the difficulty driving aid becomes as tricky as in reality. The artificial intelligence also accompanies other cars. Without being aggressive, change either drawn if they touch you well in advance you're not careful, they spend sometimes causing brake dust outputs also raise a very realistic ...

Best possible type graphics, great AI and especially online mode to get all the juice to a game that is nothing more than a drink a little "out-bitches." It costs less than 40 euros, which is not much given the times, but I'm not sure that's worth. This game is really good, but if you had to pay out of pocket no doubt await the final version will be much more comprehensive in options, cars and tracks.

Between what I do not think anything is that we were again without damage to the cars. After seeing how they reacted the cars of Forza Motorsport 2 driving our mistakes, this is nothing short of unforgivable. I guess that's the price you pay for car racing real brands. I think one of stupidity of some "lights" responsible for trademark or marketing of any of those car companies who will not see a scratch on their virtual cars. After watching the Mercedes was Lady Di, I assure you that a Mercedes is not going to look better or safer to see that does not break into my game. It makes no sense.

Finally, if you really want to Gran Turismo, which makes sense given its lineup and the absence of quality racing games on PS3, grab one, but if the money out of my mind I would expect. Yourselves ... Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is a great appetizer, but by itself falls short, missing the main course.

Four words on independence in the game

Posted by in Blog , demo , video games

The theme is a bit old, but it serves as an introduction: A few weeks ago was fired from Gamespot Jeff Gerstmann journalist allegedly put a note in 6 out of 10 the video game Kane & Lynch when there was a big advertising campaign on Gamespot video game. It sounds like the Web and video game publisher had agreed to the note (probably implicitly) and Jeff jumped him giving his honest opinion. It also seems that was the straw that broke the camel. Jeff had 10 years on Gamespot and it seems the end of a wayward videogame journalist, faced with the address for many years. Let's talk a little bit of independence if you will.

The video game journalism is factual information (as news, guides, tips ...), but mostly drawn criticism (analysis or progress). The criticism is by definition a journalistic genre midway between information and opinion, although in practice it is closer to the subjective side. It should be clear that a critical analysis is a subjective impression that causes the game to the writer, though no longer have information. We start from that basis and that many gaming analysts of this country do not receive a return for their hard work they do out of pure love with good intentions and little else.

I've said on other occasions also do not understand the hobby we have in this world by scoring the game on a scale of 1 to 10. This makes us much more harm than benefit it gives us for various reasons that I explained at the time. We should do like the rest of the entertainment: Make less extensive reviews, which can be read well (never understand these analyzes of 10 pages ... Do you expect someone to read and generate more page views and advertising), more focused on the important and innovative game with a scoring system less relevant, such as the stars used by film critics.

My experience with advertisers

I luckily I've never been in the position to change a note, or earlier when generating content, not now that I have suppliers. Also attempt to safeguard the independence of providers at all costs, since I am totally against anyone to buy crap for the price of gold. But when it comes highly publicized fact is that we must "deal" with the advertiser. Whoever pays the charge, but never let their influence exceeds a certain point. Can never impose a note, to affect the analysis. That must be maintained to the letter even if it costs a layoff.

My idea of independence

Speaking of Independence, I see with surprise attacks various small blogs (and not so little) to the largest, whom they consider sellouts as they are considered independent by the mere fact of not belonging to large groups. They believe that the mere fact of being big and having advertising corrupts you and them, by being small and not rely on any group, are the ultimate independence. I can not really understand this idea, but I guess that makes an analogy with the film and they are considered as those small independent studios making quality films.

All this is nonsense in my opinion. For me, independence has to do with the honesty of individual, honesty and good manners, because then you find every kick to the manual of journalism ...

My advice: Learn from various sources and download the demo

When buying video games to do as when you purchase anything else: See it at various sites, analysis and compare prices, find out a bit on forums ... The little one is interested in the subject can avoid spending 60 euros trash. My biggest recommendation is to make good use of demos, either the PC or console, it is the best way to evaluate the game yourself without spending a dime.

The rubber ducks will Sony video game

Posted by on demo , PS3 , Sony , video games

This news made me very funny. The rubber duckies Sony, famous for being the protagonists of the PS3 demos that led to past Sony E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo), will ultimately be responsible for their own game.

The ducklings and a bathtub full of water was all he needed to demonstrate the potential Sony PlayStation 3. In the first E3 soprendieron us with an impressive physical, very real, and the second was used with its DETECTION Sixaxis control of movement. This year I do not think we see more ducks in an E3 finally held, but with a different philosophy, but at least we play.

So much so that the official website of the study is in English and Castilian version ships with a "coming soon". See if this second part is more successful. We must support the Spanish software.
