Begin pre-E3 conference Microsoft

Posted by at E3 , Halo 3 , Microsoft , video games , Xbox 360

The E3 officially starts tomorrow, but today is the expected conference prior to E3 Microsoft which is expected to announce the new camera that detects body movement and a new game called Halo Reach presumably .

You are about to start the event, which will be broadcast on the website of Microsof's E3 . We will see it and then comment ...

Updated: just concluded the presentation and I can only say ... Mother! The Beatles Rock Band Beatles submitted, Tony Hawk has done the same with Ride, then we have seen Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Final Fantasy XIII in action ... And then to top it off have been many exclusive: Crackdown 2, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Forza Motorsport 3, Halo ODST and Reach and an impressive Alan Wake. The best came at the end with Project Natal, the Xbox camera that detects body movement and eliminates the control console. Then Steven Spielberg have pulled that has stoked enough to innovation. This step gave the king of hype, Molineaux (as is written differently), presented to us something very special, it's like having your own friend in the console. Great Clips! Besides the issue of HD movies without downloading or anything, I only need to note that Facebook and Twitter coming to Xbox Live. Wow! The consoles are no longer a bastion of "geeks" to really become the queens of the room, accessible to everyone. Ah! And if that was not enough, Kojima has announced that the next Metal Gear will also be played on Xbox!

I love this game!

March Bestsellers: Resident Evil 5 goes like a rocket

The ADES, Spanish Association of Publishers and Distributors Entertainment Software, has released on its website the list of most sold in Spain in March according to data from consulting firm GFK. As expected judging by the huge success of their demo, Resident Evil 5 has come in like a rocket to the first and third place thanks to their versions of PS3 and Xbox 360. Killzone 2 follows the pull and hold firmly in second place.

Street Fighter IV has deflated in just one month and only the PS3 version remains in tenth place. Wii Fit, Wii Play and Mario Kart down a bit, but to make sales for Wii enters the list Mario Power Tennis, the remake with the new control in the ninth. Nintendo also put back a DS game among the best sellers, particularly Professor Layton and the Curious Village, a good game of mental agility highly recommended. Equally important is the input of a PC game in the list after many months without appearing: Empire Total War. The strategy game from SEGA is placed in seventh position. Congratulations!

adese-marzo-09

When Wii Play will disappear from this list?

As for the negative news, still without news of PSP: Resistance Retribution has stumbled. The worse the news for Rockstar, as its excellent Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars is neither in the top of Nintendo DS. Its appearance by the worlds pirates a few weeks before it appeared in the shops had to completely ruin the sales of a game that did not deserve this treatment, it is a great wrong. Equally disastrous are the results of Halo Wars. The teacher is missing in action from all charts.

* My analysis of RE5: Good, but not as much as promised

* My comment on the best sellers of last month: Killzone 2 and Street Fighter sales pack a punch

What would you ask the next generation of consoles?

I just close the previous banzaiincuesta that probed you think about what you value most in the face of the next generation of consoles. Then came OnLive, we propose to play remotely without console, but until they demonstrate that it is indeed possible, we have a new generation, which should first have lower prices, secondly, to offer a new experience game, and third, better graphics (This is the last thing I mean. Are you playing Game Boy or what?). The other aspects, design, portability, etc. I highlighted in the survey does not seem to affect you at all:

banzaiincuesta

I just got off a new poll to see if we elect the best game of the first quarter, which ultimately was not so bad, because there are many games that will be in the top end of the year. You decide, and you can vote on the sidebar of the blog.

Killzone 2 and Street Fighter sales pack a punch

It is available on the Web ADES , the management of video games, the list of best sellers of February. Enter as two rockets on the list the exceptional Killzone 2 and Street Fighter IV and Fallout 3, which benefits from a good price drop.

The list is led by Wii Fit, which fortunately unseating Wii Play, the game that nobody would buy if it came bundled with the wiimote and down to third place. Killzone 2 goes directly to the second position and the sixth, thanks to another edition metal box. As no published data, we do not know if the sum of both editions desbancaría Wii Fit.

Nintendo's participation in top 10 finishes with Mario Kart + Wii Wheel, which occupies the fourth place. Fall off the list of Nintendo DS games that appeared in January: Brain Training, Super Mario.

Street Fighter IV is another great entry in the list (look like the top 40 ...). His version of PS3. Is placed in fifth position and Xbox, in tenth.

Apart from Wii Fit, lost sales force PES 2009, which down to the seventh seat for PS2 and PS3 into the eighth.

In short, February has been a great month for PlayStation 3 in our country. Five of his plays have been placed very well on top. We could add a sixth to the list with the PES on PlayStation 2. Nintendo remains strong with 3 of their games for Wii in top positions and mainly emphasizes ausiencia Nintendo DS games, you should be feeling the increasing level of piracy exists and lack of new releases powerful. The Xbox still in the doldrums and this year has only looked into the top 10 with the well-tenth of Street Fighter IV this month.

lista-adese

This month the list is less dramatic than in January :-)

What about the rest of February releases powerful? FEAR 2 appears tenth in the ranking of seventh in the PS3 and Xbox 360, which are not very good news. Even worse is the situation of survival horror: Unable to find a Dead Rising or Silent Hill Homecoming on any list!. Same with Race Pro, an excellent simulator for PCs that has gone unnoticed.

I say goodbye to some figures ahead of March. Rockstar has said that GTA Chinatown Wars, a new adventure for Nintendo DS is not working in sales but the reviews are excellent . Probably sales are weighted by the leak of the game itself on pirate networks before its release. I'm also eager to know the sales figures of Halo Wars, a new experiment to move the RTS to the console, and, of course, the Resident Evil 5, which looks set to break the mold.

Gonzo proclaims the twilight movie and the era of video games in the journal Frames

I have to put some up on film now also work on it. So this month I bought the magazine frames, which I found a pleasant surprise: An article from Gonzo Suarez, well known thanks to the first Commandos and currently developing "The Lord of Creatures" in his own studio , Arviragus, the reader receives. The first thing I thought is that Gonzo is all, no one is lost, either round table presentation or article. Secondly, that what will the film frames to open your magazine with an article by Gonzo which exalts the game above the cinema.

Gonzo says that video games are the "culture" (though not daring to mention the word) of new generations. Digital content with video games in the lead, set a new language, the son of film, but beyond him and leaves him obsolete. As Saturn remembers simile devoured his children, according to Greek mythology.

The lord of the creatures

As a business, the film is also in decline and he cites the directors now engaged in running games, including Spielberg himself, and the fact that blockbusters are delayed match to avoid large releases of video games like Halo 2 or GTA IV. Even large film production companies, including Warner, have turned their eyes toward video games as signed to weather the crisis.

Gonzo concludes the hearing of frames is not the end of the film, but "the form factor of exploitation." The "distribution efficacious pirate" do much harm, but the film will live through the "star system". The game goes far beyond the film because it's an experience "immersive, interactive, social, addictive ... and especially unpunished."

I personally think the film will never die because they do not worship their stars, but because it is a great way to tell a story, that once buried the storytelling, the oral tradition and even the literature for many people. It is time that cinema handover to a new form of expression that transcends it, video games. And remember, in a changing world, video games become obsolete in a much shorter time period than it has lasted cinema. Who knows, maybe you and I are going to get stuck on the pad while our grandchildren and not use their body to play.
On the other hand I find it funny to say that video games are something "unpunished." Do they have to go to jail for 2 people atropellas Grand Theft Auto IV? Or maybe wear a hat to give me electric shocks when I do something wrong with Saint's Row? Gentlemen, is a video game! So powerful believe it? So much we can get to identify with Niko Bellic or Carl Johnson?

My humble survey results Halo 3

The results of my humble second survey have not been very significant this time. To the question, not biased, of "What is the greatest failure of Halo3?" Responded 12 people. Four of the twelve users who responded think that the graphics were not as good, 3 others think the single player mode is too short, 2 did not learn well the script and another 4 to confession unconditional voting they liked everything Halo 3.

I, as author of the survey, I can confess that I think the graphics are not as good, the game is quite short and that the script is not very clear on not having a good introduction cinematic. I think they are failures that do not allow more than 8 or 8.5 of final mark to the game, but many media outlets have given up to ten.

My new poll reflects one of the topics that have been debated in recent days. The Wii is innovative and has triumphed. Nobody doubts that. However, the catalog of games is low, is too controlled by Nintendo, aimed at public too casual and minor ... If you have a Wii ... Confess! Do you play a lot or little? Are you collecting dust? When was the last time you connected to the Internet with it?

I, but are not very influential, I will say that mine has a finger and dust after the novelty of Wii Sports supposed Wii Edition and Resident Evil.

In the right column can vote.

My humble survey results

Posted by in Halo 3 , Super Mario , video games

There seems no doubt. Halo 3 has been the undisputed king of September with 60% of the votes (16 out of 27 you have done). Super Paper Mario, which I supremely bored and Heavenly Sword, which I have not had the pleasure of sampling, are your other choices of the month.

Now that I've finished Halo, I will propose a new poll to go deeper into your impressions about this game. The new attempt to check if you have you found bugs or is a game 10, as published by many media. I think that should not be rated with a 10 to any games, but that's what you told .

You have the survey in the right column.

My analysis of Halo 3

Finally my Xbox is back after a long walk in Europe, specifically Germany, that he fixed the issue of the three red lights, which basically means you have been melted by a heater (hey, you fix it for free but if it gets out of warranty you better have it in portrait and airy). After changing the motherboard, I have returned unpolluted (warms considerably less) and have had the opportunity to play Halo 3 to stop all weekend.

In the heroic level, the third highest of four possible, play single player has lasted me a weekend and that I'm not an ax, is that the game is a little short. That I am not saying it's bad because he still has plenty of life thanks to the multiplayer and cooperative play. The experience was intense, exciting, but short. The phase I liked was the end, it's very exciting.

The game in general I found very similar to Halo 2, with more graphics, more detailed, but experience in general has not been radically different except the enemy AI. In the heroic level has been a joy, with groups who lose their leader and run away, giving instructions to each other that well ... Surely they barricade started the game again in the highest difficulty level. Wish me luck ...

I can not script or want to talk much for 2 reasons. I do not want to spoil the story and also I have not fully grasped among other things because I do not remember very well from Halo 2. Finally, there are many twists, unexpected alliances ... It would have required a good introduction to remind the first 2 chapters of the game. The game seems to come at the end of the trilogy, apparently without result Halo 4, but you said yes to be associated with a quarter film cracking. It will be a complementary set of the film and not a continuation itself. It may be a summary of the first three chapters.

The sound is a hoot. There are lots of different phrases. Even you can get to kill an enemy and someone else will release "It was my lover!" And come at you like crazy. They are small hints that put the icing on a brand new game in this regard. This time, it has been located as God intended and does not sound to "neutral Spanish" Mexican sounded like such a stir that up in Halo 2.

As for new weapons and new protection options, sure they are very good, in fact the enemy uses them quite well, but I would not have used a lot. I almost used the weapons already knew and little more, so the news I have been very useful or necessary to finish the game.

And now, after a good experience for a player, I think I will go into Xbox Live to see if I hit some shots. In fact, Halo 3 presentations press have been focused primarily on the multiplayer. It's what others have said and with what most excited were the guys from Bungie. Now I will comment on how it goes.

Video games and zombie time

Posted by in Blog , Halo 3 , Microsoft , video games

Leo on the blog expert Yahoo! that Oscar del Moral, chief Xbox officer in Spain, published an article encouraging people to do crazy things or lie to the many to progress in a game. It basically says that at certain times of the night's insistence not produce a result and is losing sleep then you can affect your daily life. I personally am 100% agree with this statement, which was reinforced in the lisbro I'm reading right now: "Face to face with life, the mind and the universe" by Eduardo Punset.

In one of the interviews Punset, known for his TV program "Network", interviews scientist Steven Strogatz, who studies the emergence of synchrony in nature at Cornell University in the United States. Mr. Strogatz, among other interesting discoveries, says that between 3 and 5 in the morning are like zombies, zombie when we're in, and not good or play video games or control a nuclear power plant as Chernobyl, where he spent what happened. This and some other disaster occurred during the zombie strip, in which our vital functions are at their worst. So you know, 3 to 5 am the best thing is rest.

All this stuff is because yesterday I stayed until 4 am playing Halo 3 and I have felt in their own meats. About four o'clock I had to shut down because it was no longer able to spend a phase. I thought of the idea of the zombie zone I read and went to bed. Moral: Insistence = loss of sleep.

Microsoft lives bittersweet moments

These days are bittersweet for Microsoft and its gaming platform. On the one hand, there comes a Halo 3, which has become the largest landing of gaming history with 170 million raised in 24 hours and, secondly, the companies have had to withdraw to succeed in Japan, after the little acceptance of games specifically made for that market as "Blue Dragon" or "Eternal Sonata".

The Microsoft press release announces that the Xbox 360 title has broken the records set by box office hits as "Spiderman 3" and novels like "Harry Potter" became the biggest launch of the entertainment industry. The game also is aimed at reviving the great multiplayer gaming network Xbox LIVE network who have used more than one million members to play in the first twenty hours, making the September 25th busiest day in the history of the service.

Microsoft's patience is being rewarded with sales unthinkable. Will this game bring benefits to the gaming division of Microsoft? Many years of struggling, so I guess it would be a deserved award.

But Japan did not work neither the old nor the current Xbox 360. I'm not sure why, but I guess Microsoft should not be very popular here in the land of Sony and Nintendo. Some of nationalism there and causes beyond the product itself, because the catalog is impressive by now and the console is fine. Only bad thing about this console is that sooner or later you will see the three red lights, and it is best that you pass while under warranty. I really have to wait for my return from the service console. Crashed at the worst time ...

The survey started in the right column makes it clear that you, the visitors of this humble blog, also do you think is the big launch this September.

The frikada: In campaign mode and 537,452,951 deaths were recorded. In a game where your mission is to save mankind, there will have been many deaths as world population in just over 2 days ...

Are you going to bash Halo 3? See you!

Well, I just confirmed attendance at the bash tonight at the Sports Palace to celebrate the arrival of Halo 3, so I will go wandering around to see if I meet with Carmen Electra or, failing that, Carmen Machi, also attended among others famosetes surely have not touched a pad in your life. If you see someone that looks like my avatar, you know, to say hello!

Certainly this event overlaps with that of "Public", the new left-wing newspaper that arrives on newsstands tomorrow. If you like the press, please buy the first issue. It is a good memory. The newspaper, leftist-oriented Internet and young audiences, will the blogger Director Nacho School.

Update: Although a little late, upgrade to the mini-chronicle of the event. Although we arrived late, we could not access the party until after the arrival of Carmen Electra. The first comment was: "If it is a shotgun". But being a petite little is not bad. For my taste, even is a plus :-)

The atmosphere was good, but only used a fraction of the Palacio de los Deportes. I honestly did not see many celebrities. The truth is that I have no interest in seeing them in person, I do not identify anything with the fan phenomenon, and I saw Manel Fuentes and little else, because VIPs were also on the second floor.

The food was good, the drink was plentiful, and enjoyed a couple of good talks, which for me is more than enough. As the party on a Tuesday, the palace was emptied soon enough. In the end, we were presented with the game, but as you know if you follow me every day, or Xbox 360 is in the service of evil suffering of the 3 red lights. I hope to return soon from Germany!

Another exclusive: Video from Halo 3

This week is being great at Yahoo! Games. After the exclusive yesterday with my idol Jade Raymond, today we have had to launch a new video of Halo 3 exclusively. As I am very tired, I roll it up more. See him, although not very spectacular and is in English. For Friday launch another I have not seen. Enjoy it: New exclusive video of Halo 3 .

Update: Today we released the second trailer exclusive: Believe (You will think). A short summary of this trailer Microsoft has published a little earlier in soapbox, but we have had the full trailer 90 seconds. Very emotional, this second more worthwhile. The video focuses more on the epic of the game and shows a large model of the final battle, without showing images of the game at any time. A curious strategy, but I have arrived.

There comes a cracking September: Halo 3, Heavenly Sword and many, many more

August, as usual, has not been very prolific in shots, but finished with a very good game: Bioshock . The last of Take-Two competing Obscure 2 , Stranglehold , Monster Hunter Freedom 2, Super Paper Mario, Skate, Heavenly Sword, Turok, MySims, Brothers in Arms: Double Time, World in Conflict , Warhawk , Halo 3, Lair, Clive Barker's Jericho and Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, among others.

There is no doubt. We enter in September that will arouse much interest. This time, moreover, the quality is not at odds with the amount. The pity is that I get the salary for me with everyone. If I had to choose, perhaps I would choose Halo 3, Skate, Monster Hunter Freedom 2 and World in Conflict. The Jericho I call on all the attention because it is a Spanish game. It would be nice to try.

Finish the great trilogy of Microsoft: Halo 3 will arrive on September 26

Microsoft will not wait for the Christmas season this year to unload their heavy artillery in the form of game. Halo 3 will fall like a hammer on the sales charts around the world on September 26.

In late September we enjoy the end of a trilogy that has earned a place among the greats of the game. In fact, the head teacher is not only great character and Xbox, but a mythical character of the video game. The last major chapter of Halo will give us the opportunity to save the world again (How many times have I already saved humanity? I've lost count!).

While we hope we can enjoy the Halo 3 multiplayer goal, which will be released on Xbox Live and activated with the game Crackdown. It will be a great opportunity to see first hand some of the highlights of the game, such as new levels, weapons, vehicles and game modes.
