What do you think of NGP?

Posted by on PSP , Sony

To me in general seemed to be a "dark beast" that fills my aspirations. Of course, the presentation was a little response to Nintendo, it could be more carefully worked, has feeling a little hasty ... And the new provisional name ... NGP ... I understand they want to break with PSP, but I for one I will continue using PSP2 until the final name ...

Dante's Inferno vs God of War III

Today I was playing the demo of Dante's Inferno . For those who may know what is an action game in the purest style God of War . Such is the resemblance that many media call it a technically be a copy modeled on moves, combos, creatures, settings ...

Dante's Inferno is based on the first part of The Divine Comedy of Dante Alighieri. The player controls Dante, a veteran of the Third Crusade trying to reach his beloved Beatrice and free his soul from Lucifer. His search leads Dante to deal with monstrous creatures through the nine circles of hell in order to save Beatrice, also facing their own sins and crimes of war.

Honestly my opinion about this game is pretty good, I amazed me the demo, the game is technically exquisite creatures with some scenarios and graphically very good, with very crude animations and gameplay very affordable and easy to control. Another of the strengths I see in this Dante's Inferno is that is cross platform and can enjoy both boxers as sonyers.

The game was developed by Visceral Games within the Electronic Arts studios (creators include the successful Dead Space ) and will go on sale February 12 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PSP. A month later, specifically on March 16, will be released the highly anticipated God of War 3 PlayStation 3 exclusive and truly believe that the latter is the one who will win the war between them.

You guys who believe, God of War 3 or Dante's Inferno? Do you think Dante's Inferno?

Prices of digital distribution are unacceptable if they are equal to those in the stores!

Posted by on Microsoft , PSP , Sony , video games , Xbox 360

When everything seemed to go well with respect to the prices of video games on digital distribution, the topic seems twisting. The logical thing is to offer games cheaper, since it saves huge costs in transportation, materials, stores or warehouses, but leave the price is just too great a temptation for what you see ...
Do not lower prices is totally intolerable and certainly, if it happens we have to protest too much, all together, making noise in blogs and forums and refusing to buy the games, which is actually the most powerful weapon we have in our hands .

psp-go
Leo Dandel an article complaining about this. They've taken a look at the Xbox digital catalog, which has given each local exchange the power to choose the prices, and in our country are about 30 euros. Not much difference in price is in stores, so I wonder: Why should I buy a digital product can cross the street and buy it at the Game center at the same price? Even if I save a good euros ...

If we are given the same game for the same price in digital, all the advantages are for Sony, Microsoft and company: They save huge costs, load the second hand market, the loan to a friend, we are dealing with hard disk, bandwidth ... Where is the advantage for the user if not in the price?

Not to mention only Microsoft, we will also charge against Sony, to make everyone happy fanboys alike: He speculated that the new PSP Go would download games to provide lower cost, but this is not as clear. If digital distribution in Japan is cheaper in the U.S. are "tested" with the same prices and in Europe, the thing is not clear yet, but traditionally the prices are the same as in the U.S., making the conversion of 1 dollar = 1 euro when in fact $ 1 are 0.68 euros ... is not nothin ...
For now, U.S. version goes like digital physics of Gran Turismo for PSP Go: $ 39.95, as I read in viciojuegos .

We'll see what happens with Europe, but I'm with the fly behind the ear and already I call for us to unite all and, if that happens in Spain, has a sound start of good. Since we "sneaking" it in the prices at this time, we will suffer and for the rest, so you have to get serious with this now.

Sony takes a hit at the table with PS3 Slim

Sony has hit the table with the presentation of the PS3 Slim console running and consumes a third less than today. Fortunately Sony has made good rumors and will launch the new console to 299 euros on 1 September, which means that remaining in stock could drop to 250 euros. All good news, except that no longer can install Linux on the console, which will not be a big problem for most users.

ps3-slim

It's not super sexy, but better than nothing

It seems that until Microsoft Project Natal is going to play a little pain. I promised to buy a new PS3 down in price and I will fulfill. I'll get a PS3 Slim. In total I've donated 500 euro sony PS3 plus the previous 300 that I spent far more than I spend on the PSP Go, which I think also I will buy even without touch screen ... The philosophy seems to me that is good.

So far I had been quite "Xboxer" but must admit that Sony is doing their homework.

If you had $ 300 right now, what would you buy?

Black holes PSP Go

Posted by in Meristation , PSP , Sony , video games

Leo Meristation an interview of the director, Pep Sanchez, Cristina Infante, chief marketing officer of Sony hardware, I have found very interesting because it clarifies some thorny issues about PSP Go.

1) The prices will not fall despite not having the costs of physical distribution.

Meristation: What is the pricing?

Cristina Infante: Not fully decided, but the idea is put on the same price at UMD and download.

M: That's going to cause complaints ...

CI: We have a network of distribution that do not want to compete unfairly in online selling cheaper than the price at which they must sell the UMD.

2) They are negotiating with distributors to sell PSP Go. We will increase hardware sales commissions to offset the loss in the software.

M: One of those stores in England said it would not sell because after selling PSPgo would stop selling games for the machine. Are there similar complaints in Spain?

CI: We are negotiating with distributors for the sale of PSPgo them interesting.

M: Expanding margins on commission?

CI: One of the possibilities.

3) Although I thought and had read somewhere that Sony was going to facilitate the digital download games you already have UMD, now going to be no.

M: Have you thought about owning a PSP that already has several games on UMD and PSPgo is purchased? Should re-buy the games to enjoy?

CI: We are mulling how we can solve this problem, which is small and has no simple solution. We have no official response to this situation.

* Read the rest of the interview at IGN . It is very interesting.

Eye to the iPhone. It is a de facto console. I refer to the tests

In March I wrote an article saying that the iPhone and iPod were succeeding as arcade games and Nintendo (and other) have to worry about. I received more than a stick in the comments, both meneame as in this blog for it.

I suppose that this reaction is that it is not easy to convince the "hardcore" and fanboys, who do not see beyond their home console, a device that Apple was not a console at first but it is facto to all effects, you're eating ground to Nintendo and Sony.

I guess all you can convince these "hardcore" are videos like the one I put then Resident Evil 4 running on an iPhone:

Eye to the zombies that are Spanish, if you know Catalan, Basque or Madrid ...

Data on the Apple store are really impressive. 20 percent of its applications are games and there are 13,000 in the catalog. More evidence: Electronic Arts has opened a studio to make games for the iPhone at low cost, Konami is preparing a Metal Gear, PSP Go is on the same path as Apple, Nintendo DSi enhancements ... More clear water.

To see what I hide the apple pipe ...

Patcher apologizes for rating of "scam" the price of PSP Go

Posted by on PS3 , PSP , Sony , video games

My list of priceless moments, led by the statements and the nervousness of the signings Joan Laporta to Real Madrid, just fat: Michael Pachter, one of those hyper famous analysts whose word goes to church and I have some hobby unjustified, it has had to put up for saying that the price of the new PSP Go due out in October was literally "a scam".

Worst of all, it meant that Patcher PSP Go is not worth the $ 250 cost in the U.S.. If I lived in Europe and had to pay 250 euros, which are to change now $ 346, would commit hara-kiri.

The fact is that Patcher has apologized for the way, but not by the fund. Keep thinking, like other mortals, once again Sony has happened to the price. To read the full text of the apology Patcher, go to Meristation , which is the source of this news.

Hirai is not of this world

The head of Sony Computer Entertainment, Kaz Hirai, not of this world. Someone who drop these pearls must be from another planet:

Pearl 1: Judging the success of PS3 considering only the 3 years at the market is "premature." "For other companies that have a lifecycle of five years is easier to judge the performance after two years." He said the PS3 life cycle is 10 years. (Seen on Eurogamer ).

* Anyone else think this?

Pearl 2: "It's hard to talk about Nintendo because we do not see your console as a competitor. They are in a different world and we operate in ours. " (Seen again Eurogamer ).

hirai

Kaz, a proud resident of Ganymede

* Operates on Earth Nintendo and Sony, on Ganymede. To my knowledge, they are both consoles and both point to the casual and hardcore audience. Or not?

Pearl 3: "The only option was to use the Sony Blu-Ray. From the standpoint of the players had no other choice. Why? For disk capacity. " (Seen in Meristation ).

* I know no one to tell me he bought the PS3 for the blu-ray. I get the impression that we have shoehorned. Where there is a good hard drive ...

Pearl 4: About the price of PSP Go. "The value that European users will get good and do not think they are so directed by issues like the price as in other markets." (Come back to see Meristation ).

* As you know, the PSP Go will cost 250 euros, much more expensive than in the U.S., which cost $ 250. By contrast, now, we would pay $ 351, or 100 more than in the United States. A new joke.

Sony announced the new PSP on Tuesday

Posted by on Internet , PS3 , PSP , Sony , video games

Those of Ars Technica , which are a "enteraos" have a "deep throat" in Sony has ratted them the big announcements this year. Namely: Fixed to have the new PSP, which will be touch screen, no UMD, with a keyboard that hides behind the screen and digital distribution. I can not but applaud his ears. Although some analysts (other enteraos) say they will not succeed , you have to increase their coffers with me as long as the price is not prohibitive, which is not the oven scones.

It also confirmed the PS3 Slim, who would even be ready for release, but it would be an ace that Sony will be putting on the sleeve. He submitted later and would not leave the market until later this year to give them time to more uninformed users end up with the "old" PS3 off the shelves.

Lowering the price, nothing at all, at least until further cheapen the components . By the way, the Sony conference will take place on June 2 at 20 hours (GMT). If I get urls to follow it live on the Internet, I tell you (or vice versa if you find it before me) :-)

PS: This "post" is not pictured because I'm tired of hitting "fakes" of PSP :-(

E3 is about an interesting, which is new

E3 is coming (will be held from 2 to 4 June) and the thing is hot. As always, I get to see the fence, but no problem, you're already accustomed to "enjoy" as well. This year seems to have realized the shit show that was the previous 2 years and returns to what it was, an event that really makes noise and creates "hype" global.

e3-logo1

There is speculation that there will be presentations of the new PSP, the PS3 slim and maybe some motion detection gizmo that brings the Xbox to the Wii philosophy and it's probably a camera. Also assume that Nintendo will not disappoint and will announce something really big, some new Zelda or Mario game. I do not think you get anything really good in terms of hardware for the Wii a few days the release of Wii Motion Plus ...

March Bestsellers: Resident Evil 5 goes like a rocket

The ADES, Spanish Association of Publishers and Distributors Entertainment Software, has released on its website the list of most sold in Spain in March according to data from consulting firm GFK. As expected judging by the huge success of their demo, Resident Evil 5 has come in like a rocket to the first and third place thanks to their versions of PS3 and Xbox 360. Killzone 2 follows the pull and hold firmly in second place.

Street Fighter IV has deflated in just one month and only the PS3 version remains in tenth place. Wii Fit, Wii Play and Mario Kart down a bit, but to make sales for Wii enters the list Mario Power Tennis, the remake with the new control in the ninth. Nintendo also put back a DS game among the best sellers, particularly Professor Layton and the Curious Village, a good game of mental agility highly recommended. Equally important is the input of a PC game in the list after many months without appearing: Empire Total War. The strategy game from SEGA is placed in seventh position. Congratulations!

adese-marzo-09

When Wii Play will disappear from this list?

As for the negative news, still without news of PSP: Resistance Retribution has stumbled. The worse the news for Rockstar, as its excellent Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars is neither in the top of Nintendo DS. Its appearance by the worlds pirates a few weeks before it appeared in the shops had to completely ruin the sales of a game that did not deserve this treatment, it is a great wrong. Equally disastrous are the results of Halo Wars. The teacher is missing in action from all charts.

* My analysis of RE5: Good, but not as much as promised

* My comment on the best sellers of last month: Killzone 2 and Street Fighter sales pack a punch

And the big announcement from Sony came

Park the roll of drums, emotion, cold sweats and keeps the portfolio because the big announcement from Sony, rumored by Internet gossip for 2 days, there is the highly anticipated PS3 price cut, or presentation of PSP 3G or the remake of Final Fantasy VII, and an exciting new firmware, or PS3 Slim ... The big announcement was the PS2 price drop, which is not bad, but not what I expected, I'm afraid.

From next April 1, PS2 will have a new estimated price of € 99.99, representing a significant savings over its current price of € 129.99 (Yes folks, in the United States will cost you $ 99 as you feared). So if you're into Buzz, Eye Toys, SingStars and the like, you're in luck, if you're like ordinary mortals and excite you more of a Killzone 2, a Resident Evil 5, a Gran Turismo 5 or Metal Gear Solid 4, better sit down because they expect to walk down the PS3 is very tired.

Disappointed?

Sony Ericsson works with PlayStation for inclusion in your portfolio

The world president of Sony Ericsson, Hideki Komiyama, whose company does not pass a good time, has said in an interview with El Pais that are "working" to include "future PlayStation from Sony Ericsson." "Soon you will see how this evolution takes place within Sony Ericsson," he continued Komiyama:

P. But Sony has denied that his Play Station should be included in a terminal.

R. We are working with the Play Station for inclusion in the future of Sony Ericsson as part of our portfolio. At the moment not really say how or when, but soon you will see how this evolution takes place within Sony Ericsson.

The PSP2 is called PSP 3G and we know the first details

I read on Kotaku that has leaked that Sony is indeed working on a new PSP which approach would be very similar to the iPhone 3G. The leak would have made a Producer of Sony America at this time should already be pointing in the lists of American INEM.

As told, the new model will be called PSP 3G and will have touch screen (good!), Bluetooth, a QWERTY keyboard, larger than the Iphone and have finally released the failed UMD. Emulating the iPhone, you can download games from the PlayStation Network Store and tell the full support of Sony Ericsson. The device, in an advanced state of development, would be launched in Japan and the U.S. in late April 2009 (The latter is what I chirps).

The first source whence came the rumor, http://playstation.blogsite.org/ , and deleted statements by the Producer of Sony, so we are only echoes, rumors and voices from beyond the grave ... :-)

As stated Txema in Kotaku on Monday begins the GDC 09 and major announcements are expected.
