A great lesson for programmers

Sometimes one finds it can not completely and totally customize the controls of a game because the programmer does not come out of the ... well, he has not seen fit. Explanations tend to form certified as diverse as we want not explained configure the controls in a way that does not fit your square head of zeros and ones or do not want to configure the keys suppose an advantage for some ...

Well, here's the big lesson. A boy in a forum complained bitterly because he had bought Dead Space 2 and could not set the action of walking in the mouse and claimed that he left the game unusable. The programmer, as a programmer that is, understood nothing, but it turns out the poor kid has no arms and plays with her chin ... ( Read the full story here, in English )

Awesome lesson. Gentlemen, think of all the world and allow controls to be completely and totally customizable once and for all.

PS: Sorry if I hurt sensibilities, there are programmers nice people, not many, if any, Hayles ... :)

Are you of what they bought Street Fighter IV and have not been satisfied with the new characters? Logical, because they have charisma. The PC is dying

Peter Moore

A news item caught my attention these days. Peter Moore, former Xbox bigwig now responsible for the EA Sports division, has decided not to bring their PC games, beginning with the very popular (U.S.) Madden. Piratillas, you have been finished pulling emule to play FIFA ... The PC is in full agony due to piracy and the decision to integrate low-quality graphics cards on the plates to cut the most of computers

Moore does not want its free to play games. Far is already supporting the brand of Microsoft Games for Windows. The truth is that PC sells for 20 euros FX Interactive, World of Warcraft, Sims and little else. Not sold barely ever are going to do less and less games.

The idea of Moore is that PC gamers are content with hacking competition games or consoles to pass if they want to continue playing the EA. It is clear that the console is much more profitable for EA. In fact, hack FIFA does not mean you play for free, but also if you play online EA is the expense of maintaining the infrastructure.

Sorry for the PC, I always thought it's the best gaming platform, but among us we have finished loading and is terminally ill.

Games like Prince of Persia or Command & Conquer Free

Lately I've been posting a lot about games. The other day I told you how to get free Xbox 360 games and how to play online for free Wii . Now I read that many game companies are putting direct download and free many of their older titles for PC

As always, the most innovative is Ubisoft. The games are released Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Far Cry and Rayman Raving Rabbids. Course, are free but carry advertising. In the same download file says "Free ad supported game," meaning free game supported by advertising. I assume that is an experiment at Ubisoft, with support from FilePlanet, since in Spain Ubisoft page is not even mentioned the subject. Click here to download the games. Have the links in the right column, just below the "What's hot".

For its part, Electronic Arts allows you to download Command & Conquer . This game is very special to me. It was the one I was hooked in my life, becoming 3 consecutive days (no nights, of course) giving up acabármelo. I think it was the end of BUP, and meant to leave then some games. It was like a large overdose of which take long to recover and return to catch a game more healthy. If you have not played ever do it. It's a great game

Finally, let you know that you can also play Sim City, another clasicazo, but this time online, without downloading the game. Click here to play.

It is curious this initiative to give away games. No other acts and entertainment industry. The music and film is not cheap even in jest, but it seems the entertainment industry is more open. It is also true that the older games worse than the music or movies.

Pirates of the Caribbean Is a copy of Monkey Island?

Posted by on PC , games , PC games

That's at least ensuring the creator of "The Secret of Monkey Island", Ron Gilbert, and I think not without reason.

The only really original movie for my taste is the characterization Johnny Depp. Not that Disney has deliberately copied the game, because in fact the film is based on a popular attraction of the park, but the similarities are fairly obvious. The most striking is the resemblance with Captain Barbossa LeChuck.

Food Force, the United Nations game against hunger

Posted by on PC , games , PC games

I reported that Yahoo! Germany is providing coverage for Food Force, an educational video game funded by the United Nations which aims to teach children between 8 and 13 years worth of the "World Food Programme". This is a simulation game in which you try to show how aid organizations to the Third World.

It is another example of the games, like many things in life are neither good nor bad by nature. The games can also serve, and serve to educate and entertain without any violence. Food Force is a free game which occupies 227 and hosting selflessly does Yahoo! Games.

Presented the Spanish edition of Runaway 2

After succeeding beyond our borders, Runaway 2 reaches Spain by FX Interactive, which provides us with a great adventure game for the price of 19.95 €. I am delighted that this Spanish game arrives in Spain, but if Pendulum Studios no longer look outside our borders than inside, could not exist. I hope the game has a great welcome in our country and put on the first sales position.

The game also includes the first installment of the series, a book of special courts and other art that will delight the most "freaky".

Adventure game is back

For some time there is an ongoing debate on the issue of the decline of adventure games. This genus has been weakened, it has been diluted due mainly to other genres have adopted their identity. No need, for example, play an adventure game to enjoy a great script, or to deal with fun mini-games and puzzles, because they are already present in most games.

Titles like Broken Sword or Monkey Island are now part of memory, and large distributors and creators of video games and not venture into this genre, but this does not mean that the genre is dead. Still the best to tell a story and is not as difficult to program as a great game of last generation, so occasionally some not so great study develops a pearl of the genre, with no break in the charts, but are gems.

Want some examples? Runaway 2 (which will soon be in the street in Spain), Dreamfall, the late Larry, Syberia ... The latest news is that I have the Secret File Tuguska of Friendware, whose argument is really attractive:

On June 30, 1908 an explosion with the force equivalent to 2,000 Hiroshima bombs shattered the Tunguska region in central Siberia, affecting more than 6,000 square kilometers of trees.

The explosion could be heard at a distance of over 1,000 km Witnesses could see an object falling from the sky illuminated by a blue light. A column of light of 20 km in height preceded a black cloud mushroom.

According to the chronicles of the time the three following nights were so bright in Europe that could even read the newspaper on the street. Today it is still a mystery what happened at Tunguska. Now is YOU who is immersed in an unprecedented adventure to uncover a conspiracy related to the Tunguska event that will take you to different parts of the planet.

Get ready because your detective skills have never gotten so tested.

Welcome to Tunguska. We hope you survive.

Do not you wanna play? While adventure games are not my favorite genre, I am always ready to enjoy a great argument.

How will Windows Vista video games?

Posted by in PC games

I have read reviews for all tastes, but it seems that the idea is to revive the PC games that are very low ebb due to piracy. The biggest news is that DirectX 10 is released, the evolution of DirectX that will run in the highly anticipated games like Crysis or Age of Conan, to give some examples. It also brings more casual games, parental control and the brand "Games for Windows".

- All details on the progress of Christian Red.

Anybody can tell me the minimum and recommended hardware? I have much affection for my pentium 3 to 1000 MHz, but I think his time has come :-)
