Black holes PSP Go

Leo Meristation an interview of the director, Pep Sanchez, Cristina Infante, chief marketing officer of Sony hardware, I have found very interesting because it clarifies some thorny issues about PSP Go.

1) The prices will not fall despite not having the costs of physical distribution.

Meristation: What is the pricing?

Cristina Infante: Not fully decided, but the idea is put on the same price at UMD and download.

M: That's going to cause complaints ...

CI: We have a network of distribution that do not want to compete unfairly in online selling cheaper than the price at which they must sell the UMD.

2) They are negotiating with distributors to sell PSP Go. We will increase hardware sales commissions to offset the loss in the software.

M: One of those stores in England said it would not sell because after selling PSPgo would stop selling games for the machine. Are there similar complaints in Spain?

CI: We are negotiating with distributors for the sale of PSPgo them interesting.

M: Expanding margins on commission?

CI: One of the possibilities.

3) Although I thought and had read somewhere that Sony was going to facilitate the digital download games you already have UMD, now going to be no.

M: Have you thought about owning a PSP that already has several games on UMD and PSPgo is purchased? Should re-buy the games to enjoy?

CI: We are mulling how we can solve this problem, which is small and has no simple solution. We have no official response to this situation.

* Read the rest of the interview at IGN . It is very interesting.

Now read the interview, but the fragments that have put me seems rather uninteresting:
It will expand the benefits from sales of hardware?
    - It is possible

It deverán to buy back games?
    - We are mulling how to fix it, but I can not say anything ....

Rather, it counts for little, the only thing that costs more console and games are equal. How much spoil to distributors and little care for users. Why not spend the distributors and sold at the SonyStyle website directly to customers? They would have to answer to anyone for putting the games cheaper.
Will the final death psp Sony in the digital entertainment world?
Possibly not, but surely be another bump more. They will know.

The fact that Sony Spain give an interview of this type in which you can ask the questions we are asking everyone is already interesting in my opinion.

The issue price of the games is a novelty, since little had been said of the subject. That dealers are getting problems also in Spain is another novelty. At least I only had news that was happening in France. And I understood that we would be able to download the games we already have on UMD, but it seems not so clear is the thing.

George, who I knew was in England, maybe in France too. It is normal that the stores are threatened, but they should be thinking about their business models and shift your thinking because the physical stores are doomed to disappear sooner or later. The future is digital distribution, and who continue to cling to the current model will die with him. Music, movies, books, games.
Now need to know who will pay 80 € more, about the same. Or some rogue, for practically the same, or much cheaper.
With a psp, a memory stick and an Internet connection can have the same concept not be loaded with thousands of UMDs with any psp, and a bargain price.
Anyway I do not think that if they continue on this line the psp succeed much. The idea is good, the intention as well, but the statements are incorrect. People are not willing to pay the same for intangibles. In most iTunes music and movies has a lower price in a store (no cover, or the scripts that some audiophiles covet), many e-book stores feel the same, the price of the ebook is less to the paper edition, the Stage store prices also tend to be lower than in a physical store.
Sony aims to sell for the same price, apparently without giving any extra benefit from the discharge (which in return will come without box or instructions, or book of concept art). I still do not see it.
But hey, time and the figures speak for themselves and may have to bite my tongue.

Yes, if we agree. Precisely why I posted, because you can not charge the same for a UMD game, you need physical store, transport and so that digital content.

I hope that, at least, with the price reduction of development kits also come out cheaper games ... or are going to eat boogers, because it is absurd.

Eye, because the reduction in the price of the kits mean that less money is needed to develop, more studies will have access to the kit, but then the item price and license fees and may not be affected.
