Nintendo is hitting hard at Sony

Nintendo continues to increase its global gap in sales terms with a vastly inferior hardware, but with a successful philosophy. As I read on Reuters, Wii has quintupled in PS3 sales in the country of the rising sun. In May, Sony sold 45,321 units of the PS3, while Nintendo put 251,794 units.

Sony is facing this with layoffs and downsizing in the U.S. and in Central London. Here in Spain, as I told you at the time , not only is there no layoffs, but the CEO, James Armstrong, has been promoted to vice president of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe and is now responsible for PlayStation in southern Europe, which now includes Italy. Bravo for the team in Spain, which is selling in a form acceptable although the rest of the world are to see them come.

As for PSP, although they deny it (Sony follows with an international communication strategy that is making a lot of damage), a redesign is underway, because they may not sell as many games as they wanted. The idea also seems to be turning into a mobile ... If you want to know what would put me on the PSP, consult my article How would you improve the PSP .

In short, bad times for Sony, which is serious about lowering the price of the PS3 like Microsoft, which has already recognized that the ideal price of Xbox 360 would be 199 euros. For that price is a bargain.
