My question to the director of Microsoft's entertainment division in Spain
Today has been Daniel Cervantes, director of Microsoft's entertainment division in Spain, responding to questions from users in a digital meeting in The World.
This was my question:
Hello Daniel. I do not understand why in games 1 euro is always worth a dollar, that is, if the console is worth U.S. $ 199, the price in Europe is always the same amount in euros instead of cheaper. Always the same and therefore we consider them beaten (in the PAL territories of sticks to give us prices). Honestly, we feel the world because we are fools to pay far more. I've heard some explanations, but have not convinced me. See if you get it. Thank you!
And the answer:
hello, I love your question, remember to consider the differences in operating costs of businesses, as well as taxes and margins for sales channels. This happens with all products that come to mind ... U do the same with wages, which on average are higher in Europe than in the rest of the world to convert to dollars as they have been cheaper when the Euro was worth less than the dollar Now we have to bear the consequences of the devaluation of the dollar ... I hope I at least come to convince you a little more ... greetings
Sorry, but I still do not understand ![]()
Personally I value that Daniel has come to the fore when rain sticks for the great ban prior to the release of Modern Warfare 2 and the three red lights are both gaining attention many years after the launch of the console.
Unfortunately, Spain is usually painted little world decisions of multinationals such as Microsoft because there is a large number of sales. Here there are big decisions are made, but be playing the clubs. In that sense it is an ordeal.
Indeed, his gametag is miranda and mine, JMDI. See you online.

I do not agree with the equivalence € = $, but no big deal. What happens is that when comparing prices in dollars we do so from a base price without tax (in the U.S. each state applies a different tax) and when we come here we compare with the VAT already included.
What bothers me far more is the price difference from Spain to the rest of Europe, we all have similar taxes, but for example in UK the game offerings are much better and that's without considering that the standard of living there is much higher than here. Finally, we will continue resorting to imports.
Leave no other recourse to imports. Of course, we can continue to study English, because the tendency is to remove Castilian for bitching.
Is that firms often work in dollars and in fact almost wins.
