Sony gives in and the PS3 price drop
Sony was in an untenable situation. With a PS3 that is a great machine, but at a price too high (especially in Europe) could not compete with a Wii that has reached the masses and with renewed thanks to Xbox 360 Halo 3. The only solution was to lower the price and do it now, because they could not afford slow sales this Christmas.
After rumors and denials bland by Sony, it is true that they were preparing a new version of PS3 40 GB with HDMI and Wi-Fi Sixaxis, but 2 of its USB ports, card reader and backward compatibility with PS2 titles. The "Starter pack" previously sold for 600 euros will cost 500 from October 10.
As for me and I heard a rumor that the PS3 was going to lose money at the party that Microsoft made with the launch of Halo 3, but did not give me details. I decided not to publish it because I do not favor publishing unverified rumors and news by following the manual of the perfect reporter.
