Film will
Going to movies, but not films. That we all agree: the movies based on video games are horrible and not because of the raw material. From what I wanted to talk about today is the cut scenes, those videos that introduce us to the story, tell us how it flows between levels or reveal the end of the game after finishing with the big bad of the game. How good are these scenes? Always? Are proliferating too?
The last two games I tried, Lost Odyssey and Devil May Cry 4, are two very different games, one role and another action, but they have something in common: lots of cut scenes in them. I'm not going to say that I have been fascinated. Both are of great quality, but I am left with the feeling that with the new generation (Xbox 360 and PS3) has been advanced in cutscenes and little in the game itself. Both documents, make no mistake, do not bring about amazing new gameplay, this inherent feature of the games that should have been the main beneficiary of the new generation.

Another hugely successful game, Final Fantasy XII, goes so far even be defined as an interactive movie, not a game, given the large amount of cut scenes in it.
I'm not against the cinematics, but developers should focus on improving the games themselves and not try to resemble both a movie. You can tell a good story without resorting to cinematic that have nothing to do with the game itself, since not even done with the engine that drives the game. These scenes are usually very gimmicky, they leave you stunned by its magnificence. These are the scenes which are then used both for marketing in a somewhat fraudulent because then they do not reflect how the game actually. Often lead to frustration. The cinematics are good, but I prefer to do with the game engine and not that they take out of the hat and then used to show that the game is more than it is.
It's funny that thanks to Blu-ray has increased the power storage and is being used for these kinematic and put all languages, but not to develop new games, shooters with learning your enemy combat tactics, games that are not same as the first time I played, to suit your level previously unselected difficulty that encourage community, games that teach you a different ending depending on how you acted, you get full and genuine freedom of action ...
In my opinion the game does not have to try to be more like movies. A good script is essential for a good game, we all love a good story, but the games must go further, making the player identifies more, who are most immersed in the action than they would be seeing, example, Rambo.
I'm not sure that the new generation is well underway. We must improve the gameplay, harnessing the power of the new machines to surprise in genres in which it appears that all is said. The cinematics are good, but I prefer a good game. The new generation will not film, I fear.
